Update: 28th December 2007
I've changed the Guineacam a bit. Now there's only one camera, but it's one of those wireless infra-red things that don't require a whining laptop to be spinning all night long under the sofa to keep it going. This means that the performance should be better, and you should also get to see some guinea even when the lights are out :O
What the hell is this?
The Guineacam was something that I set up when we first got our guinea pigs. I wanted to make sure that they were getting on together and not fighting while we weren't home, so with the cam I could watch what they were doing from work. Now we've made it public so that everyone can, er, enjoy.
Whats the point?
There is no point. It's just a bit of fun.
Who are Alfie and Emily?
They are the two guinea pigs that we now have. We started off with Emily and Sophie, who we had from a rescue centre. We didn't know at the time, but Sophie was pregnant, and in June 2006 Alfie was born. After a month we seperated him from the girls and gave him his own house. Unfortunately, Sophie died in December, around the time when we were planning on putting all the guineas together into one house.
Why aren't they both living together now? (UPDATE) Oh wait, they are now.
A few weeks ago we forced them to live together. It has been a struggle, and they still have a go at each other now and again, but we are slowly introducing the things that they used to enjoy in their own houses such as their cosies (effectively little sleeping bags). Hopefully there will come a time when they'll realise that they are stuck with each other and have no choice other than to get along :P
The cam is a bit slow :(
Can't do nowt 'bout that. It refreshes every 5 seconds or so, but I can't help the speed of it while it loads a new image. You're not really missing much ;)
